Google has stopped selling Google Glass

Google Glass

Google Glass has been a popular talking point since its launch in 2013. During those years, wearable technology promised to revolutionize the way businesses operated, providing hands-free access to critical information and improving efficiency. In fact, the possibilities offered by this type of device and by Augmented Reality are constantly expanding. However, as of March 15, 2023, Google has stopped selling Google Glass Enterprise Edition.

Devices currently in use will continue to receive support and assistance until September 15, 2023. After that date, damaged devices will no longer be repaired or replaced. Also, Google will no longer be planning software updates.

Google Glass was the first model of smart glasses launched on the market. Like all innovative technology products, they have represented a turning point and received a dose of criticism. Initially designed for the consumer market with the Explorer Edition, Google later realized that the potential of Google Glass could be exploited more by companies. This led to the release of Enterprise Edition in 2017 and Enterprise Edition 2 in 2019.

Although Google has not released an official statement on the matter, the possibility cannot be ruled out that it may return to the smart glasses market in the future with greater awareness and even more innovative products. In fact, it’s important to remember that the technology is being used more and more across a variety of industries, from healthcare to manufacturing.

The future of wearable technology is still promising, and Google Glass will still be remembered as a pioneering product that pushed the boundaries of what was possible.
